SUMMARY:Lotta Gahrton Production - “Malala – one out of many” (6. NCA / Small Theatre)
DESCRIPTION:From: Stockholm\, Sweden\nDirector and Choreographer: Yuliya Aug \nGenre: Contemporary dance\nDuration: 60 min \nLotta Gahrton Prod. (LGP) is a Swedish contemporary dance company working for young and adult audiences. We are a touring company that also often work collaboratively with music institutions\, art galleries\, schools and of course dance stages. LGP is partially based in the multi-ethnical suburb Tensta\, outside Stockholm\, which is reflected in many of our productions. Freely interpreted after an idea by Anisur Rahman. Is school important? What is the purpose of education? And what is the result of being forbidden to go to school? A performance about the girl who risked her life to get her education. She was shot\, but survived\, and is now struggling for every child’s right to go to school. But we also meet Swedish children and their thoughts on school – children who have grown up with that right – or even duty – which Malala is fighting for. With dance\, music and words the two worlds are woven together in a close and touching performance. \nLocation on map: 6. NCA / Small Theatre – Abovyan st. 11 \n[put_wpgm id=1]

SUMMARY:TEATR MASKA - “KONTRABASISTA” (3. State Chamber Theatre)
DESCRIPTION:From: Jelenia Gora\, Poland\nDirected by Krzysztof Rogacewicz \nGenre: Drama\, comedy\nDuration: 70 min \nTheatre Maska was established in 1995 in Jelenia Góra\, Poland. This is a small private theatre. In over 20 years\, about 25 performances have been made.\nKONTRABASISTA is filled with grotesque\, laughter and nostalgia monodrama. This is a kind of confession of lost music\, and really a story about everyone behind us. In the monodrama\, love competes with hatred\, and bitter laughter with powerlessness. The loneliness of the bassist is a field to show for his imagination. The hero’s imagination shows the audience not only comic but also dramatic behavior. We present everyman honestly and earnestly lest the time spent watching the play is the time lost. \nLocation on map: 3. State Chamber Theatre – Mesrop Mashtots ave 58 \n[put_wpgm id=1]

SUMMARY:Nu Nu Theatre - “Experiment Ionesco” (4. YSITC Student Theatre)
DESCRIPTION:From: Bristol\, UK\nDirected by Ileana Gherghina \nGenre: Spoken word\, installation\nDuration: 50 min \nNu Nu Theatre was founded at the end of 2012\, in Bristol\, UK\, by two professional émigré-Romanian theatre-makers. The company focuses mainly on actors who use English as their second (non-native language).\nThis is a play about loneliness\, about how we talk to ourselves\, how we invent friends\, and how we (can) die alone. \n‘Experiment Ionesco’ is a deconstruction of Eugene Ionesco’s The Chairs. The piece has minimum light and no sound effects or music\, apart from the actors’ voices. It is a piece that deliberately teases the audience’s patience: it deliberately wants people to think ”this is boring”\, this lacks unity\, this makes no real sense\, tis is not interesting\, this is childish\, naïve\, stupid. \nLocation on map: 4. SUMMARY:Kannon Dance 2 (Youth Ensemble) - “VOICES” (2.	State Russian Drama Theatre)
DESCRIPTION:From: St. Petersburg\, Russia\nDirector and Choreographer: Valeria Kasparova \nGenre: Contemporary dance\nDuration: 35 min \nKannon Dance Company (Youth Ensemble) and Valeria Kasparova (choreographer\, teacher and head of the youth team) have been working hand in hand for almost two years. The uniqueness of the “VOICES” production lies in the fact that behind each dance phrase there are different ethnic Armenian dances\, which are more than 2000 years old. For several weeks\, the dancers and choreographer studied this material\, passed it through themselves and created something completely new\, inspired by the ancient movements. The music used in this piece is also written by the outstanding Armenian composer and musician of our time Tigran Hamasyan. That is\, in General\, this production can be safely called a step in the Armenian contemporary folk dance. Voices\, sounds\, music…. Are they coming from inside or outside? Do they sound in unison or separately? Loud or quiet? Determined or doubtful? Do they quarrel with each other or create harmony? It all depends on what you want to hear… \nLocation on map: 2.
