“Loretsi Sako” is a poem written by the Armenian classic Hovhannes Tumanyan. The poem tells about Sako, who goes mad at the end of the story. Sako was a mighty shepherd, who was even feared by thieves and beasts. Sako was sitting alone in the tent by the fire and remembering his grandmother’s scary stories. Recalling all these stories he began to fear of everything around. At the end of the poem Sako goes mad. The performance “Loretsi Sako” intertwines Tumanyan’s poetry, Armenian folk songs and old mode of life but all these is woven through the means of modern theater.
