Compagnie Irene K. is a contemporary dance company founded in 1978 in Eupen (Belgium) by its art director Irene Kalbusch. Choreographies don’t want to be narrative. The spaces open in all directions, always creating new constellations. The Company has adopted an own style that can be attributed to contemporary dance theatre close to the “Tanztheater”. More than performances on stage – including for children, the Company offers performances in urban/ alternative landscapes. Compagnie Irene K. regularly develops educational, creative and interdisciplinary projects.
Footprints left in the sand, in the soil. Feet can lead to freedom and encounter. Rhythm and sound give birth to perpetual movement: music is here, dance erupts, exploring relationships of various kinds.
