Kannon Dance Company (Youth Ensemble) and Valeria Kasparova (choreographer, teacher and head of the youth team) have been working hand in hand for almost two years. The uniqueness of the “VOICES” production lies in the fact that behind each dance phrase there are different ethnic Armenian dances, which are more than 2000 years old. For several weeks, the dancers and choreographer studied this material, passed it through themselves and created something completely new, inspired by the ancient movements. The music used in this piece is also written by the outstanding Armenian composer and musician of our time Tigran Hamasyan. That is, in General, this production can be safely called a step in the Armenian contemporary folk dance. Voices, sounds, music…. Are they coming from inside or outside? Do they sound in unison or separately? Loud or quiet? Determined or doubtful? Do they quarrel with each other or create harmony? It all depends on what you want to hear…
