With INSTINCT, the body art performance artist Marie Golüke explores boundaries that frighten many and embarks on a search for the most original of all motivations, the instinct. Golüke’s artistic approach is based on her thesis that one’s own suppression of certain instincts is one of the greatest problems of postmodern society. The general assumption that man is a pure rational being, sets the artist on two evenings against a sensual media spectacle: In a multimedia arena creates a poetic interplay of performance, sound and video installation.
